antique,recipes,book

Jesse was the African American cook taught to cook by Mrs. Watt's mother. The Ballard family entertained well-known people from the world of journalism, among others, and the book has stories not only of the recipes, but also of the people. The recipes are fantastic, and often very "showy" and glamorous. Published in 1954 by The Viking Press, New York. Hard cover with 184 pages. First edition, first printing. Cover shows some minor wear, binding is sound, pages are crisp and clean. (Marked down from $68.00.)
