Maine Coastal Cooking and Accomplifht Cook or Whole Art and Myftery of Cookery: This cookbook is actually two books. The first, Maine Coastal Cooking, was compiled by Ruth Wiggin and Gertrude Hupper for the Courier-Gazette at Rockland, Maine. Many of these recipes come with the original cook’s name and/or an estimate of its original date. The final 24 pages of the cookbook are a reproduction of The Accomplished Cook: or, The Art and Mystery of Cookery, 1664.

Maine Coastal Cooking: Down East Recipes dating from 1664 was first published by the Courier-Gazette, Inc., Rockland, Maine, in 1963. This copy comes from the 1973 twentieth edition. It has a paper cover and plastic comb binding. Maine Coastal Cooking has 84 pages of recipes, plus four blank pages for additional recipes. All the pages are clean and clear. The cover has very minor shelf wear. This cookbook is in excellent vintage condition.
