Culinary Gems from Kitchens of Old Virginia: This cookbook is by Irene Lawrence King. It was published by Dodd, Mead & Company, New York, in 1952. This is a first edition, presumed first printing. Hard cover with dust jacket. 224 pages. Book is in mint condition. Dust jacket has a few tiny dings. Pages and binding are perfect. NO inscription, no writing on pages, no spots. Many very solid, clearly written recipes, with sprinkles of folk lore. Many recipes are labeled as “very old,” or with the name of its family of origin, or with serving hints, or with its county of origin. Definitely a lovely gift!
